The Medieval Present

The ninth age, c. 500-c. 1500 CR, which the Settlement shades into without a border. See How the Present Was Made.

The Version 1 era, and the age of high fantasy. Every people above is alive at once and carries its history like a sword it cannot put down. One elder horror has already woken: a landslide roused a Sepulchre-Kin Record-engine, and the Wake-Seal (c. 1,200 CR) has closed the Hushvale under fog that almost no one comes back out of. Beyond that: old roads and oaths, grudges and taboos, half-remembered elder debts, peoples still fighting for a place among the others, and elder ruins and Zone-haunted ground near enough that ruin-delvers, beast-hunters, and sellswords make their living from them. The era itself is described in Medieval Era Overview.
