A Bestiary of Caeldon
Constructs
Here stand made beings. The commonest are the constructs of Conjuration, working bodies that do what they are told for a short while and have no will of their own. Beside them stands the Guardian Host of Sanctified Magic, which its own school teaches is a construct and not a company of souls, and which almost no one who has fought beside it believes.
Some of the predecessor-frames of the Dwarven deep-holds crossed into selfhood and became the Wrought; the rest still work, and no rule says what they are owed. Under the Hushvale the Record-engine of the Sepulchre-Kin, built to remember the dead, has woken and not stopped.
