The Stabilizations
The second age, c. 500,000-c. 380,000 BR, in which the Elves and the Dwarves became durable peoples and founded their first civilizations. See The Ages of Caeldon.
The first peoples become themselves at roughly the same depth of time: Elves in the Elderweald forest, Dwarves in the Ironspine mountains, and the threshold peoples in the broken ground between. Each makes its first home, and the first blood is spilled where those homes meet: Dwarven holdmaking walls the Goblins out of their own seams, and the forest's edge and the mountain's foot become the oldest contested border on Caeldon.
