Threewater Turn
Chamber-cluster of a great house where three waters meet on a Known Way, first of the water-rich great houses that together act as the region's centre; the Covenant has no seat.
The chamber-cluster of a great house where three waters meet on a Known Way. Its threshold chamber lodges the route keepers who watch the way, with blades of root-hardened wood racked by the door; behind it lie working chambers, fungus beds on dead root, the shared sleeping chambers, and the root-chamber where its children are named and its dead returned. A thousand or more live there, among them dependents and refugee lines sleeping in the outer chambers generations after they were let in.
