Seamhead
Mine-edge settlement at the head of a hold working.
A mine-edge settlement at the head of a working below a hold: lodgings, store-sheds, a smithy, and the timber yards that feed the bracing. In the working season a few hundred live there, hold miners, Kobold crews under Underhouse terms, and Human miners hired from the foothills. When the Kobolds call a working unsafe, Seamhead empties faster than the hold would like. Its graveyard is the largest thing in it. The hold pays a bounty on every Brace-Gnawer killed in the workings, and the Kobold crews who collect most of it nail the stone hides up at the shaft-head.
