Pellith
Ferry and boatyard town above the Lying Shoals.
A ferry and boatyard town of ten thousand or so above the Lying Shoals, where barges wait for a Reedfolk pilot before they go down. Its boatyards, ropewalks, and haulers' yards spill out beyond the wall, and its guarantee for the reach is read aloud at the water-gate to anyone who asks. Most of its quarrels are with the river, which has moved its channel twice in living memory, and with the wreckers above the shoals, whose false lights its watchmen hunt down every low-water season, for a bounty on every lamp.
