Shoulderlee

The station in the last lee before the Bare Shoulder, where heavy craft wait out the months the shoulder is closed. A few dozen Gnome families keep its quays, cistern, and the beacon towers on its headland, and its crews know the shoulder's moods better than any pilot further in. They also know where the wrecks lie, and a Shoulderlee diver can name what each one carried. Wreck-divers from all along the coast come to Shoulderlee to hire a guide, and the station's elders forbid them only one wreck, a hull from the crisis years whose crew is said to row the shoulder still.
