Shadepool

A Kavari rootbank village of a few dozen households on the middle river near the Gravelbraid Nurseries, built around a deep shaded pool with gravel runs and spring-fed side channels below it. Its bank council settles who uses which water, its nursery custodians tend the gravel beds, and its burial reach lies a little upstream. It sees no Thaluren for most of the year, then messengers, then escorts, and only then a run, and its custodians keep their spears sharp against egg-takers in the pools.
