Dewcup

A small hollow with a spring at its head and terraces stepped from floor to rim: half a dozen households, an orchard on the warm slope, and a cistern cut into the rock. It shares presses and drying floors with its neighbours through an orchard league, and its fallow share is kept as strictly as any great fold's. Its spring is small enough that a single bad summer could end it, and the raiding bands know where it is.
