The Steward of the Living Current

Overview

The Steward of the Living Current holds to a sacred truth: flow must remain life-bearing. This office concerns not ordinary rivers or daily rain, but the deeper current by which blood nourishes flesh, waters feed whole peoples, and living things circulate without collapsing into stagnation, flooding, or predation.

This Steward keeps Aqua's abundance from becoming indiscriminate consumption. It preserves the distinction between circulation and devouring flood.

Appearance and Presence

The Steward appears as a figure formed of waters moving in opposite directions at once: arterial red, clear river-blue, and the dark green of fertile depth.

• Visuals: Its body is transparent, and within it flow luminous channels like veins, rivers, and roots.
• The Atmosphere: Nearby, thirst eases, wounds pulse with warmth, and even dry air carries a sensation of hidden nourishment.
• The Voice: Its speech resembles overlapping heartbeats and distant surf.

Office and Mandate

The Living Current keeps vitality moving.

• It sees that living bodies, rivers, and roots circulate rather than congeal.
• It opposes blockages that turn nurture into rot.
• It restrains excesses of life-force that would make growth parasitic, swollen, or consuming.

This is one of Aqua's highest responsibilities, because if flow ceases to nourish, life becomes either famine or infestation.

Powers and Expressions

• Pulse Alignment: It can restore healthy circulation to bodies, landscapes, or workings whose flow has become corrupted.
• Stagnation Reckoning: It can identify where life has become clogged by greed, hoarding, poison, or fear of change.
• Vital Tithe: It can redirect life-energy from excess concentration back into the wider circulation.
• Current Vision: It can perceive the hidden streams linking bloodline, river, root, and tide.

Relationships

• With Aqua Prime: This Steward expresses Aqua as nurturer and connector rather than as annihilating depth.
• With Terra Prime: It respects the need for channels, banks, and vessels.
• With the Flesh Weaver: It is the Weaver's clearest opposite.
• With the Blood River: It regards that zone as both holy and dangerous, an instance of life-force pushed towards extremity.

Role in the Cosmology

The Steward of the Living Current ensures that the cosmos remains capable of sustained life, not merely raw motion. It stands behind healing, nourishment, circulation, and the right proportion between abundance and restraint.
