Overview

The Keeper of the Imperishable Record preserves the histories whose erasure would wound the structure of the cosmos itself. This Steward does not store every memory or archive every mundane event. It guards what must remain recoverable: foundational betrayals, first covenants, species traumas, civilizational truths, and the records of catastrophes that reality cannot afford to forget.

Its office exists because forgetting is sometimes natural, but erasure is an attack.

Appearance and Presence

The Keeper appears as a severe figure draped in sheets of inscribed stone, parchment, bone, and light. Every surface of its form bears text that shifts as histories are recalled.

• Visuals: Its eyes appear as deep wells of ink in which scenes move like reflected memory.
• The Atmosphere: Nearby, lies about the past feel unstable. Ruins seem to remember themselves.
• The Voice: It speaks like an oath cut into a cliff: slow, plain, and impossible to take back.

Office and Mandate

The Keeper's office is selective but absolute.

• It preserves records that must survive censure, oblivion, and deliberate destruction.
• It opposes all metaphysical acts of historical annihilation.
• It ensures that certain truths remain retrievable even after everyone who saw them has died.

Without this keeper, history itself could be cut away from reality and leave no accountable scar.
