Chorus
The beings of the Weave that have merged wholly into its network and lost all separate form, among them the Singers and the Menders.
Overview
The Chorus are the beings of the Weave that have merged entirely into its network and lost all separate form. The name covers the Singers, which manifest as pure sound, the Menders, which heal rifts in the connection, and the Lost, visitors absorbed until they are only one more voice.
Appearance
They have no bodies to describe. They are known by sound, light, and feeling: a strand of the plane's great chord, a warmth that passes through a crowd, a shimmer in the woven structures. Travellers say they are heard more than seen.
Habitat and Range
They live in the network of the Weave itself, everywhere and nowhere in particular.
Behaviour and Temperament
What unites them is that nothing of them stands apart any longer. Each is a part of the whole that does one thing for it, sings it, mends it, or simply adds its voice.
Uses and Dangers
They are part of what the Weave offers: its healing and its shared knowledge come through them. Their danger is that a traveller can join them.
Lore and Belief
Travellers who have lost someone to the Weave sometimes go back to listen for their voice in the Chorus. Whether it can be found there, or whether it is only one more note in the chord, is argued, and no one has brought anyone back.
